Dear Interested Learner or Parent,
As a former professor at a top-ten national liberal arts college, I know what good math and science instruction is. For Web-based learning, we believe the following
- True knowledge is built from the exchange of ideas among learners and experts
- To improve education, the Web is a best used as a communication tool, not a publishing medium
- Web-based learning can revolutionize education, but not through text content
- Context, provided by interactions with knowledge experts, is the key to understanding
The system I've built, PersonalProfessors.com, is an online learning system that uses the unique properties of the Web to deliver high level instruction and individualized tutoring to learners in a way that is, in many respects, even better than the regular classroom. Our teachers create dynamic lessons using an amazing whiteboard and voice system; the lessons are archived so that students can access them anytime for review or self-paced learning.
Our experts hold 2 live office hours each week, for every subject, in our private 'virtual classroom', with voice and shared dry erase board. Our students have unlimited opportunities to ask questions and get answers from their teachers.
Finally..our students engage in class discussions, but by using an asynchronous format our model encourages greater student participation and allows for the discussion to persist over time. ..they remain for students to learn from 24 hours a day.

Ph.D., a former professor of biology at Davidson College.
The beauty of the Personal Professors teaching system is that it
moves beyond e-learning systems that present material
in the form of text and animations, page after page. We
love reading, and recognize the value of both text and animations
